Skincare is something that I’ve really been focusing on this year and, as a result, there have been some new products that I’ve tried recently. The Ordinary is a skincare brand I’ve been wanting to try for a while, and during lockdown I decided to invest in one of their products. I chose the Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% formula to try as I’ve read so many good reviews of the product for tackling blemishes. I thought I’d share my review of this formula as a first time buyer of The Ordinary’s skincare!
As with any new product, I’m always sceptical at first as to whether it’ll really make a difference and how my skin will respond to it. I have sensitive skin and only certain products work for me without causing a bad reaction, so I hoped that wouldn’t happen. Luckily, I had nothing to worry about!
When I first used the formula, I instantly liked the consistency, as it didn’t feel like a thick layer of product on my face. The serum doesn’t have any strong scent which I like for a blemish formula, and the minimal ingredients are exactly what I’d look for in a skincare product. I like the use of the pipette to take the formula out of the bottle, as it means I can easily control how much product I’m using without letting any go to waste.
I noticed straight away that the formula absorbed really well into my skin, and it seemed to instantly brighten the areas that it was applied to. Niacinamide and Zinc are ingredients that help to reduce the appearance of blemishes, so I was interested to see if there was a difference in my skin after a few days of using the product.
After just a few uses, the formula had significantly reduced the appearance of most of the reoccuring blemishes on my chin. I couldn’t believe how quickly it had worked to really make a difference to my skin and almost get rid of some of the blemishes that had been there a while. Whilst the product doesn’t stop every single blemish from popping up, when one does, it really works to quickly reduce its appearance every time.
The Ordinary skincare range is all so reasonably priced, with this particular formula priced at just £5.00. The value for money of this product is the best I have seen, as the quality and effectiveness is just amazing. I really couldn’t recommend this formula enough and it’ll be a product that will remain a part of my everyday skincare routine. I know that I’ll be trying more of The Ordinary in the near future!
