I don’t think there’ll ever be a day when I don’t rely on the phrase ‘jeans and a nice top’ to help me decide what to wear. It’s an outfit choice that I can’t really go wrong with for both daytime and evenings out. Even though I’ve been trying my best to wear something other than jeans from time to time, they’re an item I wouldn’t be without. As I’m starting to venture out more and wearing outfits to places other than the garden, I thought I’d share two ‘jeans and a nice top’ combinations that are my go to this summer!
For my first outfit, I wanted to style this lovely lilac top from Pull&Bear as my ‘nice top’. I’ve been loving lilac for the spring and summer this year and I really wanted to add something lilac to my wardrobe. As it’s a pastel colour, I paired the top with my white vintage jeans from Next, as I think the colour and high-waisted fit goes well with the top. Finished off with my jute wedges, also from Pull&Bear, this outfit is ideal for transitioning from daytime to evening, and I love the block colours together to create a simple, stylish combo.
My second outfit is a mix of clothes I’ve had for a while and my new summer sandals. These cropped jeans from Topshop are a pair I keep going back to every summer, as they can be worn even on the hottest days. I matched them with this floral Jack Wills top that I bought a while ago and I love how the colour of the pattern pairs with the jeans. The top is really light and airy and it’s a good alternative option to a t-shirt. Complete with my sandals from New Look, this is an outfit that is perfect for the daytime.
I think ‘jeans and a nice top’ is one of my favourite combinations to style, as it’s a trend that’ll never go out of fashion. I love how easy it is to transition from daytime to night time too, especially in the summer.
