As the summer draws to an end and my wardrobe starts to change for the autumn, I thought I’d squeeze in one more summer styling post before I move to transitional outfits. As I’ve been on a mission to make the most of my wardrobe as it is and restyle old pieces, this ASOS playsuit seemed the perfect piece to rewear this year. I’ve had this playsuit for a while and didn’t quite appreciate before how ideal it is for wearing on a hot, summer evening out.
I absolutely love the neckline of the playsuit and the shape makes it look like a dress, which is perfect for an evening look. The floral pattern and buttons down the centre are lovely details which drew me to it in the first place, and I like the shades of the colours in the floral design. The playsuit really is a wardrobe staple that will stay in fashion each year, and can be saved for special occasions if I want to.
Here, I paired the playsuit with light grey heels from Pull&Bear and my clutch bag from ASOS to create a dressed up, evening outfit. This playsuit is definitely one I’d keep more for the evening rather than the daytime, and it’s a really good go-to when the weather is warmer. The grey heels work well with the shades of the floral pattern and keep the outfit summery. If I wanted to transition the playsuit, it also works well with black heeled boots and a faux leather jacket over the top, so I don’t necessarily have to put it away until next summer.
This ASOS playsuit is one of my oldest but most loved wardrobe items, and it won’t be going anywhere whilst it still fits me well. It’s comfortable, stylish and just right for a dressed up evening, and was a piece I couldn’t wait to wear out again as we came out of lockdown. I hope that I might be able to transition this into the autumn and I know I’ll be wearing the playsuit again next summer too!
