Winter Beauty Favourites

img_3888-2img_3877-2I don’t know about you, but Winter is definitely the season that I have to take the most care of my skin. The cold days and nights and constant central heating inside can dry it out so quickly. It’s also the start of party season, so having some makeup essentials on standby is a definite must. I’ve picked out some of my favourite beauty bits that are perfect for a good Winter pampering!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]

I’ve used different moisturisers on my face in the past, but I quickly noticed that they were all too greasy, which really didn’t help my skin. Whilst this isn’t technically a moisturiser, I use it in place of one, and it really is a miracle product for my skin! La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Duo [+] keeps my skin feeling moisturised (without the oiliness) and even reduces the appearance of blemishes and red marks. It’s become a firm part of my daily skincare routine and I can’t see myself going back to using standard moisturisers any time soon.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter Body Butter

A bit of pampering is the perfect pick me up at this time of year. My skin can become so dry during the Winter, but Soap and Glory’s Body Butter does the trick at keeping it soft and moisturised. Apart from preventing the dryness, the body butter smells amazing and the huge pot means that it lasts a long time. If you’re looking for a bit of Christmas inspiration, I think this would make a great gift (perhaps alongside other Soap and Glory bits)!

Summer is my favourite season, and there’s no better way to keep that warmer feeling alive than by having a year round healthy glow. I have pale skin which means I tend to steer clear of fake tan, so I use Dove’s Summer Revived Body Lotion as a way of building up a healthy, natural looking glow. The body lotion gradually builds up the colour, and it doubles up as a mosituriser too. It’s versatile, great value for money and ideal for this time of year!

L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil-in-Cream

Having the central heating on pretty much constantly makes my hair feel quite dry over the Winter. After I’ve washed my hair, I always use L’Oreal’s Oil-in-Cream to give it a bit of moisture, otherwise I end up with really knotty hair. The cream isn’t greasy at all, and if like me you blow dry your hair, it will leave it feeling super soft and silky afterwards. I also find that I only have to use a small amount in my hair at a time, so one bottle lasts a really long time.

Party season is upon us, and if you’re after a “going out” mascara, look no further! Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara is the one product I save for evenings out, as it perfectly creates long lashes with loads of volume in just a few strokes. The mascara isn’t clumpy and I like how it manages to pick up all my lashes, even the pesky little ones in the corners of my eyes. Again, the need for only a few layers means that it’s great value for money!

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I was a bit late to the party when it came to trying the Urban Decay Naked Palette, but I’m really glad I decided to give it a go! Whether it’s a day time or night time makeup look you’re trying to achieve, this palette will have you covered. The range of beige, brown and pinky colours can be mixed and matched to create different looks, and I love the golden “Half Baked” shade which nicely transitions from day to night.
