The Athleisure Trend *

by notsomousybrown

I have to say that the term “athleisure” is quite new to me. Having said that, the trend itself is one that I’ve worn myself for a while now without really realising. The athleisure trend is defined by clothes that are designed for exercising or taking part in sport, but which are instead worn more casually or even to go out in. It’s not uncommon to see jogging bottoms and hoodies being sold alongside jeans and going out tops in shops or online.

One brand that I think have nailed this trend is Jack Wills, and it’s hard not to love their new range of women’s joggers. These look both stylish and comfortable and I’d happily wear them out and about as well as to exercise. I particularly like the “Lingham Soft Skinny Joggers” in grey (£42.95), and I know that the price reflects both the quality and longevity. The great thing about athleisure wear is that it is so versatile and can be worn for so many different reasons. Joggers are perfect for lounging about the house, nipping out in the daytime or looking stylish at the gym.

In these photos, I’m wearing a pair of Jack Wills leggings that work perfectly for this trend. They’re soft and stretchy, so I like to wear them around the house to stay comfortable. As well as that, I can wear them out and about with a long t-shirt or top, or if I want to do a home workout they’re the perfect pick!

All in all, I think the trend is very good value for money, as joggers like those from Jack Wills can be worn again and again for lots of different occasions. I really want to up my exercise game as the weather starts to get warmer (I love to workout outside), so investing in a pair of the stylish new women’s joggers from Jack Wills has to be on the cards. As for athleisure wear in general, it’s definitely a trend I want to embrace this year – who wouldn’t want a wardrobe full of comfy, on trend clothing?
