It has reached that time of year when I need to stop wearing jeans all the time and switch to a more summery style. With some of the temperatures we’ve seen over the past few weeks, a lose-fitting dress has to be one of the most comfortable things to wear. As I continue to try and challenge myself to mix up my wardrobe this year, I thought that a swing dress was the perfect choice as a new fashion item for me.
As much as I try to be, I’m not much of a dress wearer, and I normally find it tricky to find casual styles that I like. When I spotted this swing dress on ASOS, I knew instantly that it was a dress I would get a lot of wear out of. I just love the summery, floral pattern and the slightly longer sleeves which work brilliantly with the style of the dress. I also think the shape of the dress is just right; I find that some lose-fitting dresses can be far too big on me, but this one is very true to size and is a perfect fit.
Here, I’ve matched the swing dress with a pair of black heeled sandals to create a simple, evening look for a warm summer’s night. The great thing about this dress is that it can be easily dressed down too (I wear it with a pair of pumps in the daytime for a comfortable, casual look).
If it’s a slightly cooler day, the dress pairs well with a leather or denim jacket as well as black tights and a pair of boots if the temperature really drops. I love how versatile this dress is and how it can be worn so many different ways, meaning that I won’t have to hide it away when the summer is over.
If you’re looking for an ideal, classic summer dress, then I’d definitely say the swing dress style is the way to go. It’s comfortable, lose-fitting and versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. There are plenty of different swing dresses on ASOS right now and, even if dresses aren’t really your thing, you’re sure to find one that suits your style just like I did.
