Anyone who knows me will be fully aware of my love for anything denim. It’s super versatile as there are so many ways to wear denim items. Even though the summer’s now coming to an end (sigh) we can still hope there’ll be opportunities to throw on a skirt without having to worry about wearing tights to keep warm.
I matched this denim skirt from Topshop with my bargain Jack Wills vest top (£10 from the Bicester Village store – winning) and grey trainers from Pull&Bear to create a comfy, casual look. Find the right pair of trainers or pumps and you won’t go wrong by pairing them with a denim skirt. The skirt is perfect for the winter months too – I love to wear it with a jumper, black tights and black boots when the weather starts to get colder.
If you’re looking for a slightly alternative evening look, pair a denim skirt with a vintage shirt and platform sandals for an outfit that says sophistication and won’t make you look out of place at a bar or in a restaurant. I also like to wear my skirt with a leather jacket and heeled boots to create a look which carries through nicely from day to night.
Before buying this I wasn’t much of a skirt wearer and I would always lean towards jeans or dresses instead. In the Topshop changing rooms it took a bit of persuading from my mum before I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a skirt. Now the latest addition to my denim collection has become an essential and I have rediscovered the love for skirts that I had when I was younger.
