Styling A Corduroy Pink Pinafore In The Autumn

Pink Pinafore

As the weather gets colder and the Summer clothes are no longer needed, it can be hard to think of outfits that don’t include jeans. I always end up reaching for jeans and a jumper in the Autumn and Winter, which doesn’t bring much variety to my outfits. This corduroy pink pinafore is an item that I’ve had for a while, and is one I’ve styled before for the Summer. Because the corduroy material is quite thick, I wanted to restyle it for the Autumn to add variety to my wardrobe and bring colour into the season.

The pink pinafore is from Topshop and the pinafore style is one I’ve always loved. It’s a really comfy item that is more versatile than I first thought, and it can be worn as casually or dressed up as I like. This pink pinafore caught my eye immediately; it was something different for me at the time and I just love the colour. The corduroy style is one that often comes back into fashion around the Autumn time, so there’s no better season to make this pinafore work in different outfits.

Here, I chose to pair the pinafore with a thin, grey jumper from Primark, black tights and black heeled boots from Pull&Bear. It’s an outfit that I wore recently for a meal out and it worked perfectly for it. It was a chilly evening so I threw a leather jacket over the top of it too, which still worked well with the pinafore and brought out the colour of it nicely.

As a casual, daytime piece, the pink pinafore matches well with flat boots too, and can also be worn with chunkier knits underneath on a cold day. The straps are quite loose which I think is a good thing, as it means lots of different jumpers or tops can be worn underneath it depending on the temperature. I think grey, black and cream go well underneath the pinafore, as the pink colour is then the main feature of the outfit.

I’m all for transitioning different items into the Autumn and I’m glad I’ve made this pinafore work for all seasons. I love pinafores for the Autumn and Winter months and I know I’ll be reaching for this one a lot over the next few months. I think more pinafores could make their way into my wardrobe in the near future too!
