Restyling My Zara Winter Coat

Zara Winter Coat Zara Winter CoatLast year I went all out with finding the perfect winter coat that would last me a long time. It had to be a coat that could be styled in lots of different ways so I could re-wear it each year with different outfits. In a post on my blog last year (take a look here), I wore this Zara coat with a more “dressed up” outfit, so I thought I’d try and style the coat more casually. A trip to Exeter a few weeks ago was the perfect opportunity for a casual outing for this coat!

This Zara coat is a lot warmer than it looks on photos and really did keep me warm as we wandered around the Christmas markets. Even though the coat is quite long, I definitely think it works with flat shoes and jeans and not just heeled boots as I used to always wear with it. It’s a coat that goes with just about any colour too, so there are so many things in my wardrobe that can be worn underneath it.

Zara Winter CoatThis time, I paired the coat simply with black jeans and black boots, as well as a big blanket scarf from Topshop. I got this scarf quite a while ago and I need to wear it more often – it’s so cosy! My flat, black boots are from New Look and are perfect for a day out with lots of walking whilst still matching well with a long coat.

This coat is one of my most versatile items as I can dress it up or down. For this time of year, it’s a brilliant item to have as it can transition from daytime to evening perfectly. The ideal coat for me is one that’s both cosy and stylish, and I think this one is the best of both.

I’m glad I invested in this coat last year as I haven’t had to spend on a new winter coat this year. I’m all for re-wearing items and wouldn’t like to think I was buying clothes to wear for just one season. There are lots of lovely coats on Zara’s website here if you’re still on the hunt for that statement coat, with different styles and price ranges to choose from. I know this will be a coat that will be coming out the wardrobe each winter for many years to come!
