Polka Dot Shirt

by notsomousybrown

Every wardrobe needs polka dots and I recently noticed that mine was lacking. As I had been on the hunt for both polka dots and a boxy, short-sleeved shirt for the summer, I came across this and got both in one. This polka dot shirt is a different style for me and I really do love the fit. I already know that it’ll be an item that I’ll wear a lot this summer – Pull&Bear never fail me with their summer staples!

Because of the colour and fit, the shirt is one of the most versatile I’ve come across. It can be dressed up or down and mixed and matched with different jeans, skirts and shorts. The lightweight material is perfect for a hot day and I love the loose sleeves and slightly cropped fit. Even though the v-neck is low cut, it sits nicely in place without slipping down, giving the shirt a really nice shape.

Here, I’ve paired the shirt with my vintage, off-white jeans and rope sandals for a casual, daytime look. I think the colour of the jeans and sandals works nicely with the colours on the shirt and the polka dots make the outfit more interesting. White jeans are another staple that I didn’t know I needed in my wardrobe until now, and loose ones like these are perfect for the summer.

Because of the neutral colours and simple pattern, this polka dot shirt goes with more than just white jeans. It works well with blue jeans or a denim skirt in the daytime, or can be dressed up in the evening with black jeans and heels. As it’s quite boxy, jackets don’t go too well over the top, so it’s definitely one for those warmer summer days and long, hot evenings!

My polka dot shirt is currently out of stock in this colour, but it’s in the sale in a lovely blue colour on Pull&Bear’s site here. At just £9.99, I think it’s brilliant value for money, and I definitely have my eye on the blue shirt now as well. Polka dots are one of my favourite patterns for the summer and I’m really glad I can now embrace the trend with this shirt. Pull&Bear have a few lovely polka dot items on their site at the moment, so it’s definitely worth taking a look if you want to give the trend a go!
