Continuing with my theme of wearing something other than jeans, I’ve stuck with the denim look that I love. A trip to Stratford-upon-Avon in 30 degree heat meant that I needed a cool and comfortable outfit. I have an old denim skirt, but it doesn’t have quite the right fit for me anymore and I wanted something with a bit more shape. After finding this light denim skirt on Pull&Bear, I liked the look of the fit and now I have a skirt that can be worn with just about any top and shoes combination.
I decided to pair my new skirt with this plain white top from Miss Selfridge and my nude trainers, also from Pull&Bear. The top is made from light, cool material, meaning that even the sleeves are comfortable to wear on a hot day (and they stop my shoulders from catching the sun!). I like that the skirt is more fitted than a-line, which really gives it the perfect shape for me. I really love the high waist and buttons on this style of skirt, and the addition of pockets at the front and back adds to the appeal.
I think this denim skirt can easily be transitioned from day to night with different combinations of shoes and tops. Most colours work well with the skirt, making it one of the most versatile items in my wardrobe. Wearing the skirt with wedges or heels creates an alternative evening look and, on a hot day, sandals work really nicely. Basically, this skirt works with just about anything and can be styled lots of ways!
This denim skirt is excellent value at £19.99 from Pull&Bear and can be found online here. My top from Miss Selfridge (here) is really versatile and, at just £10.00, I think it’s also great value. It comes in different colours which are all really lovely for the summer and would work well with this skirt, as well as jeans if it’s a bit cooler. I think that both of these items are really good buys as they can be styled in lots of ways, and I know I’ll be sticking with a denim look for the rest of the summer!
