Mini Marvels

by notsomousybrown

Deciding whether to try out a new beauty product can be tricky sometimes, especially when some products are on the more expensive side. I wouldn’t want to buy a full size product and then realise that I don’t like it – a waste of product and money. That’s where minis come in! I love mini or sample size beauty items, as they’re the best way to try out a product without having to buy the full size version. If I like them then great, I can go for the full size. If not, I haven’t wasted anything by testing it out. I thought I’d share my favourite mini items that I’ve tried out and will definitely be considering upgrading to the full product!

Benefit The Porefessional Face Primer

There are quite a lot of complexion products that my skin doesn’t react well to, so it was definitely worth trying Benefit’s The Porefessional Face Primer as a mini first. I wanted something to go underneath my foundation to make my pores a bit less visible, and this sounded perfect for the job. I was really surprised how much of a difference this made when I used it to cover my pores, it really does cover them well! The primer has never reacted badly with my skin and I especially like using it underneath my foundation as part of my going out makeup. This is definitely one I’ll be considering for full size, but was worth trying as a mini as it is on the expensive side at £27.50 (from Boots).

Ted Baker Blush Pink Body Spray

I received a set of Ted Baker mini products as a gift and my favourite item is definitely the Blush Pink Body Spray. The bottle is only 50ml and has lasted a long time, and now it’s nearly empty I have my eye on the full size version. I love the floral scent of the spray and, despite it being a spray rather than a perfume, the scent lasts for a while without having to be reapplied. The full size 150ml is reasonably priced at £8.00 (from Boots). As the mini bottle lasted for so long, I know that the full size would last even longer and be worth every penny.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

I’ve mentioned this on the blog before, and I first tried out Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara as a mini product. The mascara is £21.50 (from Boots), so is definitely at the higher end of the pricing for mascaras. Before trying the full version, I wanted to see if the excellent reviews were right, and they definitely were! This is still one of my favourite mascaras as it gives lashes length and volume that last all day and night. The brush makes the mascara easy to apply and even the mini product has lasted a long time. I’ve already tried the full version of this too and it’s definitely worth investing in as my “good” mascara for more special occasions!
