One thing I have definitely missed during lockdown is getting all dressed up for a date night. Going out for a meal or drinks with my boyfriend is something I certainly won’t be taking for granted again. As I’ve been missing putting together date night outfits, I thought I’d have a look in my wardrobe and see if I can come up with some new outfit combinations. I enjoyed trying on some different date night outfits for this post and wanted to share 3 different ideas. I think these outfits would be perfect for any sort of dressed up occasion too, especially if you’re all for ‘jeans and a nice top’!
For my first outfit, I chose to style this cream top from Jack Wills, as it’s one of my favourite tops for wearing in the evening. The cream colour and simple but pretty design means that it’s really versatile and goes with just about anything. Here, I paired it with these cropped blue jeans from Topshop and grey heels from Pull&Bear. I bought the heels last year and I definitely haven’t worn them enough! I think the grey and cream colours work well together, with the jeans adding a bit more colour to the outfit.
My second outfit is a bit of a go to for me, but one I would usually style more for the Winter months. I wanted to make this cream top and black skinny jeans combo (both from Topshop) work for the Spring and Summer too, so I swapped black boots and a faux leather jacket for black, open toe heels from New Look. I rolled up the bottom of the jeans a bit more than I usually do to make the outfit even more summery. I finished off the outfit with this ASOS clutch bag, as it goes perfectly and the size is just right for holding essentials like a phone and purse.
My last outfit is casual turned evening and I managed to find a new way to style these stripy trousers that I love from Pull&Bear! The white t-shirt from Miss Selfridge is one I would usually wear casually, but paired with the trousers and jute wedges (also from Pull&Bear), it definitely looks more dressed up. I think the plain t-shirt makes the trousers the main feature of this outfit, and they make a nice alternative date night option. I can’t wait to give them an outing again once things go back to ‘normal’!
Like I said at the start, these outfits definitely aren’t just date night outfits, and I can think of other occasions I’d love to wear them. I always seem to leave choosing date night outfits to the last minute though, so taking the time to think of some different combinations will help me to be more organised next time!
