So, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have noticed I’ve gone on a bit about this dress. It’s one that has become a summer staple for me and it was the ideal buy for the weather we’ve just had. The heatwave meant that my wardrobe became a bit limited as denim was off the cards and I can’t remember the last time I wore long sleeves. The only real solution was this shift dress (£12.99 from Pull&Bear) – the perfect heatwave outfit that still looks stylish even when it’s 30 degrees plus.
I really love the colourful, floral pattern on this dress, which is what drew me to it in the first place. All the different colours work really nicely together and mean that the dress can be worn in lots of different ways. If the weather is ever a bit cooler, a denim jacket works well over the top (in pretty much any colour as well!)
Here, I’ve simply paired the shift dress with my cream Converse for a very casual “I just threw this on” look. I feel like this dress makes it look as though I’ve made some sort of effort whilst still keeping cool on a really hot day. The material is light and airy, so even with a slight sleeve I don’t feel as though I’m overheating.
The style and colour of this dress means that it can be worn lots of different ways, whether that be a casual daytime fix or a summer night out. I can match it with black heels and a black belt to transition to a night time look, or even heeled boots and a leather jacket as we head towards the autumn.
In short, this style of dress is versatile, comfortable and stylish and is an item that I can transition nicely into the autumn. For now, it’ll work to keep me cool for the rest of the summer and has helped me to discover a new style of dress that works for me. There are some lovely, loose fitting dresses in Pull&Bear’s Pre-Autumn 2018 collection here that I’ve got my eye on and that could well feature on my Instagram in the not too distant future!
