Autumn and Winter are the seasons I find it most difficult to be inventive with my outfits. I usually end up just wearing whatever will keep me the warmest rather than what looks the best style wise. This year, I wanted to make sure I mixed it up a bit, so I decided to try a few transitional dresses. Milan was the perfect opportunity to try out this style, as the dresses were easy to fit into my case and ideal for the temperature in the city in November.
Both dresses I wore on the two full days we had in Milan were from Pull&Bear. I like that they both have long sleeves as it helped to keep me warm underneath other layers. The floral dress felt more snug as it’s fitted and I love the shape and style of the buttons at the front. The paisley pattern dress is a much looser fit, but with layers on top and a pair of black tights, I definitely still felt warm when I was wearing it.
I paired both dresses with a cardigan, grey coat, black tights and my flat black boots. The floral dress worked well with a yellow cardigan I got last year from Topshop, with the black boots making it comfortable for walking around a city. With the paisley dress, I wore a beige cardigan from Pull&Bear which matched well with the colours on the dress and kept me warm whilst stood by windy Lake Como.
I think both dresses are versatile and can by transitioned to the evening too. Heeled boots work well with both dresses and, with a faux fur black coat over the top, I have two evening outfits that provide style and comfort. The other great thing about these dresses is that once it becomes warmer, they could be worn without all the layers at different times in the year.
The floral print dress is £25.99 from Pull&Bear here and the paisley print dress is currently reduced to £20.79 here. I think both dresses are brilliant for trying out a different style this Winter, with a tighter or looser fit to choose from. Pull&Bear have an excellent range of A/W dresses on site right now and I especially love some of their floral prints to brighten up the Winter wardrobe. Also, if you’re planning a wintery trip away, dresses are perfect for putting in cases, as they take up less room than chunky jumpers and jeans.
