When it comes to skincare, I like to keep it simple for both my face and body. I have sensitive skin that doesn’t agree with certain ingredients or consistencies, so it’s important I know what’s right for my skin. We all have particular products we rely on and for me there are some I wouldn’t be without. I thought I’d share 5 face and body skincare products that I use daily, all of which are ideal for my sensitive skin!
1 – Face: La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+)
If you’ve followed me on social media for a while, you’ll have definitely seen me talk about this product before. The Effaclar Duo (+) by La Roche Posay has been nothing short of transformative for my skin. In the past, anytime I would try a new moisturiser, it would be too oily or thick for my skin and would cause me to break out. Since I started using the Effaclar Duo (+), my skin is so much happier and break outs occur rarely. I think the thinner texture of the product suits me best and it’s specifically formulated to tackle blemishes. I don’t think I’d find a moisturiser quite like this one that’s just right for using day and night on my face.
2 – Body: Dr Organic Manuka Honey Hand Cream
I’ve always suffered with dry, sore hands, mostly as a result of cold weather or washing my hands with certain soaps. A lot of hand creams I’ve used provide a temporary relief to the soreness, but I needed a cream that would help to get rid of it. The Manuka Honey Hand Cream by Dr Organic does just that – it’s the only cream I’ve used that actually rescues my hands from the soreness. As long as I put this on once or twice a day, my hands will feel moisturised and free from dry skin. If you suffer from dry hands, I couldn’t recommend this cream more!
In terms of an all over body moisturiser, I go through phases of liking different brands. Right now, a repeat buy for me is Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Body Souffle, as it really works to get rid of dry skin. The consistency of the moisturiser is quite thick which suits the skin on my body well, as anything too oily can react badly. I like that this moisturiser absorbs well into the skin and only a small amount of product needs to be used for skin to feel smooth. I like the fruity scents of the body souffle too, making it perfect especially for the Summer months.
4 – Face: Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream
I think most people would agree that having a pot of Sudocrem to hand is a skincare must. I was a bit sceptical at first as to how well it would work at tackling tricky blemishes, which is what I bought it for. I was really pleased when I realised it did work to dry out spots, and keeping it on overnight to do this works well for me. I usually wake up with a dried out blemish that then sorts itself out and is gone within a few days, so I really wouldn’t be without Sudocrem as an affordable way of getting rid of blemishes!
5 – Face: Vaseline Lip Therapy Tin Rosy Lips
Vaseline has always been a reliable product for instantly relieving dry lips. The Rosy Lips tin forms part of my everyday makeup routine, as it works to moisturise my lips and also give them a rosy, pinky tint. This is ideal for when my lips are feeling too dry to put on lipstick, as it still adds a bit of colour to the lips. I think, like the Sudocrem, this is just one of those products that I’ll keep buying again and again as a skincare essential.
If, like me, you have sensitive skin either on the face or body, I’d definitely recommend all of these face and body skincare products as daily essentials! Sometimes, keeping a skincare routine simple works best, and these products can all definitely form part of a simple and effective daily routine.
